The Sacrament of Reconciliation

As a season of spiritual spring-cleaning, Lent is a great time to reflect on those parts of ourselves or our lives where we find brokenness, or destructive patterns of thought and behaviour, and to turn to God for healing and forgiveness. Many have found the Sacrament of Reconciliation a liberation and a joy, as it enables us to acknowledge and name our sins and to receive absolution, pronounced specifically in our own name. To lay down burdens that we have carried for years, to wipe the slate clean and begin afresh, is a transformational gift. There will be a priest available in the Harvard Chapel to hear confessions on Shrove Tuesday, 17 February from 4.30 until 5.15pm and again on the Monday to Wednesday of Holy Week, or do contact any of the Cathedral clergy to make an appointment at another time.
