Occasionally access to the Cathedral may be restricted due to events taking place.

Southwark Cathedral is a busy working church, regularly hosting services and events. It may be neccessary to close all or part of the Cathedral to visitors to allow for these events to take place.

The Cathedral Shop and Cathedral Cafe will remain open during these times unless stated otherwise.

Access to the Cathedral
Due to building works at Minerva House, opposite the Cathedral, the route to access our main entrance (north side) will change periodically over the coming months. Alternative routes to the Cathedral will be signposted, but these may change as the works progress. We recommend allowing extra time when planning your journey.

Accessible route
An accessible route from London Bridge Underground station will be available throughout the building works. Please leave the station via the Tooley Street exit, then follow the route under London Bridge, passing Glaziers Hall, to reach the north side of the Cathedral.
