2023 Programme

2023 - Walking with Friends

In 2022 a group of Southwark Cathedral friends made their pilgrimage to Canterbury over nine months. During that time friendships were formed and there was a desire to continue our pilgrimages together.

In 2023 we plan to make new pilgrimages to St Albans and Guildford Cathedrals. You can download more information about these routes here.

To join any of these walks, book your tickets via Eventbrite.

4 February - Murder, Sex and Mayhem in English Churches - An Illustrated talk by John Vigar. Tickets available from Eventbrite.

Like most people John enjoys the peace and serenity offered by our parish churches, but having visited and recorded over 12,000 of them he has found they also contain countless images of Murder, Sex and Mayhem. Medieval murals and stained glass depict the martyrdom of saints from home and abroad, and the grisliest of dooms.

10 February - Annual Quiz Night (Tickets available from Eventbrite) or download a booking form here

24 June - Annual General Meeting, The Friends Summer Party and farewell to the Dean

Full details and tickets can found at the Friends of Southwark Cathedral Eventbrite page or by contacting Kate Dean by email or telephone 020 7367 6724
