We offer guided Cathedral tours suitable for Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 groups. These can be adapted for SEND groups and can also be tailored to a particular topic of GCSE or A Level examination specification.

Content for secondary groups can include:

  • Exploring how the design of the Cathedral and its furnishings contribute to prayer and worship and how they relate to Christian beliefs
  • Finding out about Eucharist/Holy Communion and its significance within the Church (including different interpretations within and across Christian denominations if desired)
  • Encoutering religious symbolism through exploring features of the Cathedral

In the Hot Seat

For Key Stage  4 and 5 groups, we offer a two hour session combining a Cathedral Tour with a Clergy 'Hot Seat' (each approximately an hour long).  The Hot Seat gives students the opportunity to question a member of clergy on a wide range of topics, including ethical, religious and theological issues as well as current affairs.  It may be helpful to prepare your questions in advance to ensure that your students get the most out of their experience.
